Dec 07, 2016 If you updated to macOS Sierra from an earlier version of macOS, and you previously installed Xcode Command Line Tools, you will need to install the new version of Xcode Command Line Tools as described here. If you previously installed the full Xcode package, you will need to update Xcode to the newest version (Xcode 8 or newer). Thanks for the tip. I'm curious, have you tried this also with Xcode 9.3.1, 9.4, or 9.4.1? Did you download Xcode 9.3 from the App Store while running Sierra? Or did you have to do that on a High Sierra system and copy over the installation image?
Is your Mac up to date with the latest version of the Mac operating system (macOS or OS X)? Is it using the version required by some product or feature? Which versions are earlier (older) or later (newer, more recent) than the version currently installed? To find out, learn which version is installed now.
If your macOS isn't up to date, you may be able to update to a later version.
